My name is Andrea Pignataro.
I was born the 17th August of 1990 in the town where I live, Trani, Italy.
Right now I'm a programmer and web-designer, but since my childhood I have been fascinated of informatics, programmation and graphics.
A few weeks after receiving my first computer, I realized my first software using a demo of PureBasic that I found in a cd inclosed in a magazine.
It was quite a challenge: the demo limited the code lines to 800...so I optimized every single routine in order to create “AMC”, also said “Andrea Media Center”.
For its simplicity I've never published AMC, but it was useful to me as a sorta of “initiation” that helped me doing my first steps in the Delphi, the C++ and later the C#.
Then, one day, I discovered AutoIt, an amazing programming-scripting language that allowed me to give shape to my ideas.
From then on, I put aside the object oriented programming and I preferred to use AutoIt in order to create thousands of free softwares, and you can find some of them in
this
download section of the forum. Also, I've always been interested in cryptography and steganography.
Speaking of to cryptography, I made a data coding software (Personal Crypt – you can download it from the forum section) which is
practically unbeatable.
For the steganography I've created a free downloadable ebook: “Guida alla Steganografia d'Assalto”.
The main feature of this guide is to list several methods of steganography applications using simple softwares that every Windows user can find on his own PC ... from Notepad to Paint!
This guide gained a lot of success on the internet and it reached the top rankings of Google for the "guida alla steganografia” searching.
Definitely it worths a read ... security is never too much!
There are other softwares I created that I'd like to talk about ... but I prefer not to bore you too much and I'll remind you that you can find everythingh in the forum section.
It's not difficult to understand ... I'm a big fan of adventure games.
There's no need to bore you with a neverending list of all the adventure games I've played ... you'll just need to know that the ones I have NEVER played can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
This passion led me to visit forums with fans like me ... especially jointheadventures.com where I started as a simple user and where now I am an Administrator and a Webmaster.
I can safely say that without all my friends from jointheadventures.com perhaps now I wouldn't be here, publishing my own adventure game.
And now, finally, a little hint about how this game was born (for further informations just look the other pages of the website):
Cyber has been “under construction” for some time. When I was 16 I imagined an adventure game that could contain everything I liked. So I started creating Evonture, a "sci-fi fantasy" project, made of pre-rendered graphics and photos, and inspired by my favorite series:
Myst. But 3 years of work later and a demo ... I realized two things:
1. The project was too big and too ambitious (FMV movies virtually impossible to make for a zero-based budgeting) and also too long;
2. It was not what I had in my mind: Evonture was becoming a hodgepodge of ideas and suggestions which, because of my initial inexperience, mixed subjects and settings without sufficient consistency on the narrative level.
So, in June of 2009 I did something that nobody expected: I started again from scratch. But this time I knew what I wanted to achieve.
I abandoned the vacuous fantasy nuances, the futile ambitions of FMV movies and the inconsistent patterns and I entirely devoted myself to the creation of an adventure game that would truly reflect my wishes. So, the sci-fi and cyberpunk themes, which were only slightly mentioned in Evonture, became the main theme of Cyber, an investigative adventure that somehow reminds of a Blade Runner atmosphere.
Probably Evonture would have reached the same atmosphere one day ... but it would have been disconnected from the original plot ... destroying what I really wanted to achieve at the beginning.
Then, thanks to this experience with Evonture, I created Cyber, programming a completely new and appropriate game engine, the Metal Crate Engine.Every feature, every music, sound or image was entirely created by myself in person, using
only my imagination.
Music is one of my greatest passions: I play guitar (classical, acoustic and electric) from the age of 7 and I'm specialised
also in bass and keyboards.
I composed many songs but so far I've never been published. In Cyber you can find more than one hour of music composed and performed by me ... and, I assure you, it perfectly captures the atmosphere of the game.
Well, I hope you have fun!
